Anyone getting this in a few weeks? I'm going to pre-order it soon: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/GoodFellas-Blu-ray/122386/
I bought a used copy of the DVD for $2.99, if that counts :p.

Goodfellas isn't really a "Blu-ray movie", but I do enjoy watching films at the highest quality. But I can understand people who are content to watch things in SD. I actually buy horror movies on DVD all the time. And you can't beat $2.99 for a great film like Goodfellas.

I'm like that with sports. When I'm watching sports, it has to be HD, or I get irritated by the quality. Same thing doesn't really apply to movies for me, for some reason, but based on my feelings on quality for sports, I can definitely see where you're coming from with the Blu-Ray preference. But yeah, there's this store by my grandfather's house that sells used DVDs really cheaply, so that's where I got Goodfellas. Same with Training Day, bought that from the same place for $1.99 on Thanksgiving when I was there.

I got the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack for Training Day at Target for $7.99, so that was a sweet deal. Today, I got Nightcrawler used for $14.99 and John Wick used for $11.99. Both Blu-ray, of course. But I sometimes buy bargain bin DVDs at Big Lots and stuff too. I got some good stuff for cheap, like Session 9 for $3, factory sealed.

No word yet on an American release.

I've been waiting a while for this release. Even though Princess Mononoke is my favorite, Spirited Away is a very close second. And it's been a while since I've seen it, so revisiting it in HD will be amazing.

Mononoke is next up on my Ghibli watchlist. I'd say my favorite is a toss-up between Grave of the Fireflies and Spirited Away in terms of Studio Ghibli.

I think you'll really enjoy it. It's pretty epic and it's a beautiful film. Also, the main character decapitates people with arrows.

I still need to see Grave of the Fireflies.

I'll get around to it one of these days. Grave of the Fireflies was actually my first Ghibli movie, so I went into it expecting a whimsical Hayao Miyazaki fantasy movie... boy was I surprised.
