So I finished Shadow Puppets. It picked up slightly towards the end, but it doesn't change the fact that *Spoilers in white*: The antagonist could have been offed in the predecessor and the book would still have decent conflict, as a united Muslim nation is preparing to go to war with China. It's really boring, which is a shame since Card was able to make slower books like Speaker for the Dead really involving and gripping. I'm going with a high C-.

Bumped. So I read Shadow of the Giant by Orson Scott Card. I'm glad I stuck with the franchise, because this capper is a massive improvement over Shadow Puppets despite having flaws of its own. This one actually has stakes. I'm going with a B.

I'm reading 2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke now. Pretty good so far, though I think I prefer the movie due to the latter's ambiguous nature and open symbolism.

In my English class, I'm reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Really good book.
Everything is terrible.

Are you planning on reading the follow up? Or seeing the movie?

We're watching the film after we're done with the book.

The movie is fantastic, probably in my top 25 of all time. Also, I'm still reading A Clash of Kings. It's really long.

Well, I finally finished A Clash of Kings. Great book. It's probably up there among my favorites of all time.
