Honestly,  most of 10th grade was spent watching films.  We saw the Harryhausen Jason and the Argonauts and two made-for-TV films, Helen of Troy and Jason and the Argonauts.   Both had Rufus Sewell,  and that's when I realized his career was dead.

We also watched Don Quixote with John Lithgow.

Pretty fun year.

I agree, albeit to a less drastic extent. Screw the last two chapters. Especially Chapter 11.

Think I remember reading and disliking that one too (Neil Stephenson book, right?).

Got done reading A Raisin in the Sun in English class. Good book. We also watched the 1989 American Playhouse adaptation starring Danny Glover. It was pretty good despite some hammy overacting (particularly from the actors playing Beneatha and Asagai).
Everything is terrible.

Ah. I Googled it and it turns out the one I read was Anathem, hence my confusion. It's been like 5 years since I read it...

Re-reading the scripts for both parts of Dawn of the Flounder. Cutler should get a job writing movies.

Where did you find part one?  It's been deleted by RT.

I think I'm going to reread The Hobbit, and perhaps follow it with Lord of the Rings. I haven't actually read LotR in it's entirety. And the last time I tried to read it, was when the Return of the King Extended Edition was first released in 2004.

Hope you enjoy them! The Hobbit has been my favorite book since grade school. It's what got me into LotR.

Oh, I've read The Hobbit several times. If I were to say what my favorite book is, it'd probably be that.

Awesome. You ever read The Silmarillion? I'd highly suggest it to any LotR fanatic. It sets up the world perfectly.

I own it, along with some other books, like Children of Hurin, that I need to eventually get to. I also have books of maps and weapons/armor that are pretty cool.
