I haven't read the book, but I have seen the miniseries...
Everything is terrible.

Reading a book on ah the works of the Coen brothers. I'm not sure how seriously I can take any ah film scholar who says that ah The Ladykillers is the only remake that the Coens have done though...

Reading a Led Zeppelin biography called Stairway to Heaven. I'm not enjoying it much. It's written by one of their tour managers, so it's mostly about their debauchery and drug use, not their music. Although the story of John Bonham driving his VW Bug into a lake to see if it would float was pretty funny...

Funny, I'm listening to "Stairway to Heaven" at this exact moment....

This week, I've been reading The Taming of the Shrew in English class. We've been assigned roles to read characters' dialogue. I read Biondello's with an over-the-top English accent and they all find it pretty funny.
Everything is terrible.

Since this thread is bumped, I'm going to start reading The Revenant here soon. I need to keep reading 1984 too, I was really enjoying it but somehow I stalled out and stopped reading. I also need to restart the Walter Isaacson Steve Jobs biography... too many books...

Not really the most entertaining book to read, but it's one of the most brilliant pieces of satire ever created. Twain is a genius.

I like the writing style of it... that's about it.

I've been reading Absalom, Absalom! in AP lit and it's brutally dense. Faulkner's sentences are so long that by the time I finish one I've usually forgotten where it started.

Yeah, Faulkner will do that. Ever read Kafka?

The Metamorphosis is one of the better horror stories I've read and also the grossest.  He's not quite Lovecraft, but he damn sure is brilliant.

Even though I believe it's a horror story, I think there's an argument to be made that it's a black comedy. And no, he isn't Lovecraft mostly because his stories are utilized best as social and political satire versus visceral body horror.
