Ah - so he's latched onto another generic term to unilaterally dismiss a film even if it's true or not.  Like how he described Truth or Dare as "full of jump scares" when there wasn't a single one in my memory (not that the movie was any good but jump scares was NOT a reason).  Probably makes it easier for him to "review" films he hasn't seen.
To be fair, Truth or Dare was a Toucan of a film.

But there weren't jump scares.  To say Truth or Dare sucked because there were too many jump scares is like saying Dungkirk sucked because there was too much blood and action.

Wouldn't it be more like saying Dunkirk sucked because there was too much dialogue? I might be misunderstanding.

No - there were little to no jump scares in Truth or Dare.  Just like there was little to no bloody action (for a war movie) in Dungkirk.

Oh okay, my mistake lol.

...in which we find out that The Hunger Games franchise could have used more plausible world building relative to its genre.

So I may or may not be going to this year’s Denver Comic Con next month. They have a lot of really cool guests this time around. A lot of the kid actors from Stranger Things that aren’t Wolfhard or Brown alongside David Harbour will be there, as will some Doctor Who actors (including David Tennant and the actress Dommy solicited a kiss from). Ron Perlman is also going to be there and I’m tempted to take a picture with him to ask him about Pottersville.

The guy who played Darth Maul as well as the guy who played kid Boba after will also be there, alongside Bran Stark and Hodor’s actors.

There’s quite possibly a minuscule chance that we might be able to lure Dommy back if we bring this to his attention. Some GotG actors are there too.

So, does Diego's new plan consist of coding an entirely new forum from scratch? Unless the goal is to purge the current website from existence and cut us loose of anything on here we are embarrassed of, I am not sure I see the point.

We've seen the problems with using an existing template. Ads, censorship, privacy violations, etc. I want my libertarian utopia site.

Have you found a host server yet? That's really the first thing to do, and if you don't want ads, then finding one with an acceptable monthly fee is paramount.

Honestly Neville, I know absolutely dick about computers. But part of my interest in this stems from my desire to have an actual marketable skill. My internship has made me realize that politics is all about people, and I hate people. So I'm thinking I should take some CS classes and learn to code, as the future's gonna be all about programming.

My fantasy Oasis is probably a pie-in-the-sky.

Does anyone have a way to get in touch with Daniel Chong Oh? I want to know what he thinks of the fact that his favorite director is making a film out of a book that gives a fat middle finger to all of his political beliefs.

Cutler said he could get you into a PM group on Instagram with him, Tatum, and Jed. Other than that, wouldn’t he still receive PMs from his Oasis account?

I don't think he'd respond to me. I was going to ask someone else to lure him back.

I feel like he’ll probably just be popping in very periodically depending on certain events like football season. Maybe he’ll chat with Paasche when Kanye West’s album comes out.

You know that the fact he's making it now, of all the things he could be doing, probably implies he's had those beliefs all along, right? I know it's going to be painful for you, but can you try to re-analyse MoS, BvS, Sucker Punch and the rest from an Objectivist perspective, to reveal how Snyder's understanding of Objectivism was reflected in his directing choices? I'll even A2A you on Quora so that the Rand fans on there can see that.

Also, another question I might ask Quora (though it probably was asked on there already): should the worth of an ideology be judged by the caliber of its adherents? If so, that would be rather sad for Objectivism. I am probably missing people, but as far as I am aware, its most prominent adherents today are Zack Snyder, Paul Ryan, the new nominally Muslim British Home Minister (who re-reads that very book twice a year), and Ron and Rand Paul. Now, I like the latter because of their non-interventionism and opposition to torture, but an ideology might still be in trouble if they are the best it has to offer.

"Maybe" is actually a pretty libertarian line. It recognizes that Superman doesn't inherently owe anybody his labor. Still, it's the ease with which he saved them that makes the scene so morally objectionable to me. Lifting a bus of kids out of a river is all in a day's work for Superman. Had he just stood by-- instead of exerting the minuscule effort necessary to save them-- he'd have been a pretty terrible person.

Anyway, I think this is a good example of what I call Banana Theory. Politicians such as Obama will often say "What unites us is greater than what divides us," emphasizing that people have more in common than not. But humans share 60% of their DNA with a banana. So technically, we have more in common with bananas than not. It's that remaining 40% that makes the difference. I may agree with Zack Snyder politically, but if there's even a 1% difference between us, that's the difference between a human and a chimp.
