Sitting at my girlfriend's dad's house watching his kids while he takes his new wife to a motel. Hopefully this favor can help him overlook the fact that ah I drive a foreign car.

He's pledged his allegiance  to his employers at Ford.

Remember that video of a raccoon Cutler posted recently? Well, apparently they can be more peaceful around people, especially when they understand the basics of farming.

Lol, actually, that raccoon in the video may have been a mother with its litter in the trash can.  When they have pups, raccoons are known to be some of the defensive animals.  Also, you use Quora to?  I occasionally used that site this past school semester frequently for answer sets regarding a very tough question.  Very useful... until I got a friend to give me her Chegg password.

I may or may not have joined a street race last night. Like, this thing was ridiculous. Probably upwards of 50 cars, and we just joined in in our mini-Van. Considering how stupid my friends were (screaming crap out the windows and blaring "**** the Police" on the speakers), I'm genuinely surprised we all got home in one piece. Anyways, it was really fun, and I highly suggest it. Apparently these things go on every weekend, so I may have to check it out again before I leave for college. It's quite the scene.
The car scene here in LA is like that too, to my knowledge.

Anyways, holy **** that sounds ridiculously fun. Was it like a thing where cars would do drag races two at a time, or was it this huge race where everyone was just flooring it? Either way, I wish I was there man.

I guess this also confirms Channing Tatum will star in Fast 8?
Well, when we showed up they were doing drag races, but we joined in for the huge race (which of course we were at the very back of). We hung out with them at the gas station visit, which is when I noticed how huge this thing was. I honestly felt like I was on the set of a Fast and Furious film, except we were in the middle of Kent, Washington and half the people had "Make America Great Again" stickers. I'm still shocked at how well organized this thing was....so fucking random that we found it....

How was there not a traffic jam with that many cars participating in the huge race?

Yeah, I first heard of Quora at the start of the year, but didn't get involved until last month, when most study was over. As it usually happens with digital stuff for me, I've spent the first week or so getting my fill and reading through the most random questions & answers, to the point I had ~90 tabs open at the time. Once I had enough of reading that, I tried my hand at writing answers, and got about 50 of them, with ~10500 views on them by now. I decided that was a good stopping point, and so now I only check the feed on its homepage about once a day.

Why would I hate on Swiss Army Man? That movie's amazing.

It was like 2-3 am near Kent's industrial area. Not many people live in Kent as it is (which makes the randomly occurring street race even more odd), so there were very few cars on the road.

Make of this Moulin Rouge review what you will.

Hey, you reading this comment.  Think of a movie that you like and John doesn't.  Then realize John likes Moulin Rogue more than that film.
If Braden were here, he'd think of Cabin Fever or Wolf Creek.

Exactly a month left before summer ends, and he's supposed to come back from that camp then. Given that he can't even access us there, he has to have missed all the summer releases as well. I wonder what will be his reaction when he finds out that this year has essentially seen the extinction of non-Disney/non-comic-book blockbuster. The only two high-budget successes that didn't fall into this category were Secret Life of Pets and Warcraft(loose definition of "success" indeed.) The BFG, Legend of Tarzan, ID: Resurgence, Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Huntsman, Feigbusters, and now likely Star Trek Beyond - out of all those, only Resurgence (barely) managed to get 2X its budget.  I remember scoffing at Variety last year and their incessant "Please see Jupiter Ascending/Tomorrowland, they're **** but we need original sci-fi films again", but this litany of failure does make one a little uncomfortable. All the other studio CEOs ought to buy the Creativity, Inc book by Pixar/Disney CEO pronto, or something, because it can't be good for one company to dominate the tentpole market so thoroughly. On the other hand, though, it's arguable that this simply the market returning to its natural state after blockbuster glut, and studios that survive will now to be more oriented towards the low/mid-budget films that are actually good for something other then the CGI.

Mind posting some of your answers on here?  I would be very interested in reading topics you find very fascinating.  And I think most of us are like that with tech.  I remember getting a computer and downloading Steam and I was absolutely enamored.  A few years ago, before I met Diego and co., I used my computer mainly to search up the PlayStation Vita.  I remember countless hours spent reading reviews, watching gameplay, etc. and I was obsessed.  I bought it opening day and I would play non-stop.  Now, it just sits on my desk collecting dust.  I occasionally use it for YouTube clips, searching the Oasis when my phone and computer are charging and the occasional Need for Speed Most Wanted race.  Not much anymore though.  But yeah, this whole year, I used Quora for a lot of studying.  I also used Yahoo Answers and some weird obscure website "Jiskha" (only used that in dire situations) and then finally Chegg.  In my time there, I came to learn that these sites were not good resources.  Often people would copy and paste answers from question sets that weren't even similar.  And the ones who actually did the work, tended to have a wrong method more than likely.
goodbye!

So you know that Danish Girl Letterboxd review we talked about several months ago? You know, the "cisgender" one?

Well, during those months, I left a comment on the review that ended up having the author requesting that I not post any further comments on my reviews. So today, I contacted her via Twitter to apologize, saying that it was simply all in good jest and that I didn't mean to offend her (hell, I didn't even hate her review).

The response I got:
"I really don't see the point in this message and I prefer you try not to contact me again."

And she blocked me on Twitter.
