They didn't have a chance.  People have gotten fed up with them and everyone knows it, but unfortunately there are a number of older Canadians who still believe that we're a 2-party system and voted for them anyways.  Had the left-wing vote not been split between the Liberals and the NDP, the NDP could have actually had a chance.  Now we're stuck with a conservative majority - which I wouldn't care as much about if we had a competent leader.  Which we do not.

Are you referring to Trudeau, or to the Conservative party leader, or the new Ontario leader?

The new Ontario leader, which is also the Conservative party leader.  He's the brother of Toronto's old crackhead mayor that died a little while ago.   He utilized a lot of the same shock value and propaganda tactics that Trump used to get into power, mostly catering to the uneducated without actually proposing any solutions, or even a real platform.  In his defense, he is the only major party leader that isn't overspending and furthering our debt - but in nearly every respect aside from lower taxes (particularly corporate, which I could give less of a shіt about), a lot of people are about to get fuсked. It's bad news for me especially, being a student who's about to have a lot of education funding cut.

What exactly is the NDP?  Not just what it stands for, but what the differences are.  I'm assuming the conservatives are conservative, the liberals are liberals, and the NDP are centrists of a sort.  But I'd like to hear from you how these are defined in difference to what we have.

To my knowledge the NDP in Canada is social democratic - that is, closer to a standard European left wing party than the more left of center leanings of their Liberal party. That said, I, as an American, have only done a little bit of research when trying to clarify the party’s stances myself.

Wait, so NDP is left of liberal?  So then, of the 3 options, liberal would be considered the most centrist?
