It sucks that Isaiah Thomas went from having a bright future to being a benched Point Guard.

Kyle Korver destroying the Hawks felt like poetic justice.  This season is not pretty for the Hawks but they deserve every second of it.  Seems like the only Georgia team with a rational coach is UGA (and I cannot stand them)

The Hawks Twitter account sure is hyping himself up for having the worst record of the entire NBA roster.  Still, nice game.

Hawks may have the strongest Twitter game in the league, although the Blazers and Kings are right there too (Rockets as well for that one Mavs tweet, but then they fired their guy for it).

I think the Hawks guy is good.  Definitely has much more of a personality than the guy who runs the Falcons' social media.

They could just officially change their name to just the A's and I think everyone would be happy with it.

Also, I'll agree that it's funny. But whenever I hear it, I just think of a lonely torso rolling around the half-court line.

So Toronto looks like they'll be moving on to round 2.  Washington just isn't a match.  Who they face will be interesting.  Will Cleveland bounce back (as everyone expects)?  Not sure - they've been so fickle all year - hard to see them just flip a switch at this point.  But Indiana is no juggernaut.  I'll say Cleveland in 7, but we'll see.

Wow - teams sure did miss out on Donovan Mitchell - dude is a total stud.  Was looking at Utah's schedule - they started 19-28, then went 29-6 the rest of the way, and they look like a team that could give Houston problems in the next round if they get past OKC.

I think this Celtics/Bucks series is going 7.  Utah (if they get past OKC) could give Houston fits.  I think Warriors will whip the Pelicans.  Tonight's game will be really interesting - can the Pacers really put the Cavs in a hole?  Or do they not have the killer instinct to get it done?

Yeah the only problem with him was his terrible shooting percentage.  But that has improved dramatically over the past few years and now he is a legit front-line starting PG.  I really like the make-up of that Jazz team right now - I give them at least a decent chance of beating the Rockets.

Yeah, Rubio plays a lot like a ball hog at times, taking the tough shot.  He would look much better if he passed more often, but still, he is so dependable when it counts.  I'm a full on Jazz fan.

Honestly, the 76ers would also have me as a fan (because Embiid is sick) but if Philly wins the Super Bowl, NCAA tourney, and NBA Finals, we'll never hear the end of it from those obnoxious Philly fans.

I would love it if Golden State blows another 3-0 lead, but it seems like the Spurs just don't have what it takes.  I fully expect the Warriors to finish off the series today.

I have to thank the Timber wolves for helping out the Hawks this season by shutting out the Nuggets, but it is looking like their season is coming to an end soon.

I'd laugh if the Pelicans win it all.  They slaughtered the Trailblazers (who I thought would make it pretty far, tbh), though.

I want the Wizards to win against the Raptors.  I'm sick of bandwagon fans.

That is my thoughts.

Blazers are always so soft.  I expect the Warriors to roll by 20 tonight then take care of the Pelicans in 5 or 6.  Really interested to see Houston vs Utah - I think Utah has a legit chance to win that series.

I was disappointed in how the Blazers played against the Pelicans.  They just seemed like they didn't care anymore.  They had such a strong season too, but I guess the Brow is too tough.  I think the Pelicans are an aggressive unit that could beat the Warriors, but again, I think the Warriors are destined to be at the Finals for years.  Utah and Houston would be a sick series.  Can't believe I'm liking a Utah sports org.

I do think the Cavs are losing their edge, even with their tied series. The Pacers have a real shot at winning.

The coaching difference between those two teams is depressingly large. Cs just run such a better offense, even though they really have far less talent given all their injuries.

Not sure I can put him above Pop, but Stevens is certainly an incredible coach and will be in the league for decades due to his youth. Also helps that Ainge is probably the best GM in the league.

I mean, Pop won with Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, etc.  Brad Stevens managed to get the #1 seed last year with Isaiah Thomas as their top player, and is winning a series with his 2 best players done for the year.  And I really, really dislike Pop - he's such a complete douche all the time for no reason other than to just be a douche.

Pop's just so great at getting the best out of his players (not that Stevens isn't though). The Spurs in the 2014 finals remain the most impressed I've ever been with a team, in terms of getting the absolute max out of everyone. That team absolutely rolled Bron's Heat and played the most beautiful basketball. I have to agree about disliking Pop though, he's an asshole for no reason all the time. Still though, I can't deny how incredible a coach he is.

Oh he's absolutely a great coach.  But that team that beat the Heat had great talent as well.  There are also many times in the past that the Spurs UNDER-performed in the playoffs.  2005-06 they were the #1 seed and went out in round 2.  In 2008-09 they were the #3 seed and went out in round 1.  In 2010-11 they were the #1 seed and went out in round 1.  So there were certainly a few years where they disappointed under Pop.

Officials "missed" goaltend call on LeBron.  This kind of shit is why I stopped watching basketball in the first place.  Now that they have replay, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever not to blow the whistle and review it since they do it for everything else.  Who do you think the NBA wants to advance - Cleveland or Indiana?  So sleezy.

As much as I hate the Cavs, I'm honestly not sure whether that was a goaltend or whether what looks like the ball hitting the backboard in some angles was just Dipo doing a finger roll. It's an incredibly close call.

The NBA Director of Officials Joe Borgia admitted it was goaltending to Ernie Johnson.  Also, did you look at the slow motion?  There's no way a finger-roll makes that dramatic of a carom - that's definitely backboard.

Rubio might be out for 10 days.  That is REALLY going to hurt Utah's offensive flow - something they can't afford if they are gonna have a chance to beat the Rockets.  Best case scenario is probably to get down 0-2 without him, get him back and hold serve at home making it 2-2, then hopefully have everybody healthy for a "best 2 of 3" to advance.

They had to miss 15 of 16 shots at the end of the game to lose, no way this is a sweep. Cavs will probably take it in 6 or 7 though.

They were an expansion team that started with New Orleans, then moved to Utah after a few years because of financial problems. I don't know why they never changed their team name or team colors because those were very much New Orleans and couldn't be more out of place in Utah.

The Rockets put together a team specifically designed to beat the Warriors. They had (and continue to have) the highest Elo ranking in the league. Plus most sites I looked at gave them upwards of 65% chance of winning the series.

The issue with metrics like Elo is that they can't account for the Warriors not really giving a shit in the regular season. Like, the Cavs had a trash Elo rating last year but they still cruised to the finals because Lebron started trying. Regardless of what any rating says, the Warriors have the best collection of talent ever assembled and are favorites in any series going forward barring serious injury to Curry/KD.

None of this is to say that the Rockets are bad, I actually think they're a really good squad, but the Warriors are the best team of all time.

Elo ranking LOL - I love this new age "analytics tells the whole story" approach that has become the new fad in sports.  Sometimes, just sometimes, you watch a team and know who is better.  Vegas had the Warriors heavy favorites to not only beat the Rockets, but to win the championship...Elo rating aside.

He did.  Boston just ended up going 2 for 30 from 3 or something crazy.  LeBron was a turnover machine all night.  Celts had open looks and missed - because they aren't very good.  This year's Eastern Conference was quite possibly the worst conference I have seen in my 40 years of watching basketball.

If Warriors beat Rockets tomorrow, I'm out - I won't watch that matchup again.

This true?  Pretty cool if so.  Does he make him stop for weird shit on the way to the arena or anything?  "Dude, stop by this party supply store, I HAVE to get me some of these..."

IDK about what Taurean Prince does.  I know my bro drives around certain other celebrities too.  He definitely has driven rappers around.  And maybe some B-list actors.  It's pretty cool, though.

That's cool.  Until he gets one that's a dickhead - then it blows.

James Harden as MVP is an L.
He definitely deserved it, man had a great season. Deserved it last year too for that matter.

MVP should go to a player that plays both offense and defense.
His defense isn't bad nowadays. Yes, it was awful in 2015 but he's improved a lot and has put in far more effort lately.

Okay but compare that to Anthony Davis, who is a monster inside the paint, and is the best defensive player in the league right now.
Oh, AD is a beast on defense and way better than Harden, no denying that. I think Harden's overall value to the team was still higher though, since offense is always gonna be more important than defense on an individual level and he's what made them such a great unit.

The GOAT is headed to LA, fams.  Kawhi is coming too.  I can't wait for the 1000th Lakers v. Celtics finals series.  Paul George is probably regretting that OKC deal so hard, rn.  Paul, Kawhi, and LeBron would've murdered Golden State.

Lance Stephenson to LA.  Solid player.  But I'm waiting for that Kawhi news to hit.  And then I'm gonna say that the Lakers are gonna be a monster team.

They'll dethrone the Warriors ASAP.

The more I read of Pop's ridiculous trade attempts for him, the more I realize they're gonna waste their last year with Kawhi and maybe trade him by the deadline.  Fuck him for doing that.

That brawl between Philipines and Australia was awesome.  And then they started taking selfies after Thon threw a flying knee, lmao.

Hope the true GOAT Delly is safe.  Can't risk a life-changing injury when he carries the Bucks every single season.

It's getting clearer that the Lakers aren't planning on a long playoffs run this year.  Because that 2019 free agency cast looks... nice.
