Title: Favorite videogame cutscenes
Post by: Robert Neville on March 20, 2016, 05:18:52 pm
Yeah, pretty much what it says here. I'm using a somewhat loose definition of a cutscene, here, since dialogue sequences like in ME also count, as do other ways of telling the story. Like, in this instance, the menu screen, changing over time:

And instead of adapting this classic - which was basically ready-made for a movie - they make The Book of Life. Go figure.

Pretty much any Mortal Kombat intro.  But Shaolin Monks takes the cake.  The game is not as good though.

Back when Ukrainian developers still tried to rival Blizzard:

Not that they succeeded, but it does show a certain moment in time.

Absolutely love this cut scene - as many times as I've played this game (it is my #1 game of all-time), this scene still gets to me because of the shock factor that I felt the first time I played it as well as the background music and overall mood...

This has a lot of dialogue, and it's hit-and-miss, but the best is ahead of so many movies, recent or otherwise.
