Title: Incredibles 2
Post by: Charles Longboat Jr. on June 11, 2018, 12:31:08 pm
The follow-up to Brad Birdís acclaimed film has lifted its review embargo, and sits at 88% on RT with 24 reviews so far (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/incredibles_2). It also sits at an 83 on Metacritic (http://www.metacritic.com/movie/incredibles-2).

The question is how many of us anti-Disney users will choose to boycott it.

Yeah, I might check this out too since it comes out on my birthday. At the same time, Tag (the movie based on Tatumís dad and his friends) comes out too, so that filmís place in Oasis history may be a greater priority.

I should probably rewatch the original too first. Itís been a while since I last saw it.

The Incredibles was my very first favorite movie, and still the only film I've ever seen twice in theaters, so it definitely holds a special place in my heart. I still remember going to the supermarket on the Tuesday it was released on DVD so that I could buy it with money that I had saved up ($20 was a lot back then lol) and watch it that night.

Itís definitely top tier Pixar and a pinnacle of its respective genres for sure. I just need to rewatch it to pick up on some of the nuances I might have missed as a child.

It's weird how we sometimes manage to be so similar...

I don't know if it's the same for you, but this movie will seriously always have a place in my heart. I kind of credit it with getting me into film in a way (although obviously my love for analysis and everything that people on here appreciate came later), since it's the first movie I ever really loved.

Yeah, same here. Plus it has a pretty deep-rooted libertarian streak to it, which I appreciate.

This was great.  Probably only slightly inferior to the first.

I saw this tonight. Ran into a lot of old friends at the theater, so we all watched it together. It was exactly what I wanted.

I shall see this film this evening. Afterward I might be able to atone for all the Disney movies Iíve seen in theaters this year.

9/10. Lived up to the original in pretty much every way. Characters are as consistent as ever. Different storyline/type of villain in order to set it apart-- it's not a rehash at all. Only one scene seemed off to me, and it was undercut later in the movie to the point that I think it was intentionally stilted.

Best Pixar film since Inside Out, and arguably the best superhero film of the decade.

Iíd have to rewatch every superhero film from 2011-2014 to truly verify but if I were to go with adjusted rates based on my own standards Incredibles 2 is probably the best superhero film of the decade.

I'm not sure how someone could feasibly dislike this movie.

Guys it "only" has a 94% on RT so obviously some people didn't like it, I was being (mostly) facetious.
