Figured I'd make one of these, for those on here who are as into music as I am.
Similar to the movie watching thread, discuss and rate whatever album you're listening to, or have recently listened to that you feel is worth discussing.

Good News For People Who Love Bad News (Modest Mouse)

After talking about it with Frank, I listened to this today...it was actually quite a bit better than I expected, having only heard about half the songs on it prior to today.  I don't think it ever reaches the heights of Modest Mouse's best older stuff (Trailer Trash, Dramamine, Edit the Sad Parts) but it's actually one of their more consistent albums.

Score: 7/10

Yeah we're having breakfast with some friends then straight home.  Gotta get back on the MCU watching, plus we have Quiet Place and C0ck Blockers to watch either Sunday or Tuesday.

One of these days you need to light a few bowls and listen to that album I gave you.  I think you'd be down with it.

Once More 'Round the Sun by Mastodon

This album was definitely an improvement The Hunter (the album preceding it), but it's still not one of Mastodon's stronger works.  There are some very solid tracks on here, but overall it just doesn't have that epic progressive quality that they had in their first four albums.  Going to probably listen to their most recent album soon.

Score: 6/10

Best songs: Tread Lightly, Asleep in the Deep, Ember City

Yanqui U.X.O. by Godspeed You! Black Emperor

This is another band that has managed to produce music over two decades without a single album that wasn't great - which is not an easy feat for any artist.  I think this one is definitely their most underrated though - it has more of a focus on layers of instrumentation and less sampling than their other albums.  if you like really good experimental music and/or post-rock, listen to this band.

Score: 9/10

Kid A by Radiohead

Got around to listening to this by Frank's request.  I've always heard Radiohead songs in movies and shows and never been particularly interested in listening to their albums, but this one was alright.  There were a handful of weak parts on here that really reminded me of shіt bands like Coldplay, and the vocals rarely compliment the music at all.  Having said that, I really liked some of the instrumental compositions on songs like The National Anthem and How to Disappear Completely.  Haven't decided on a score yet, probably around a 6.

Huh okay, maybe check out In Rainbows or OK Compuer as those two are regarded as their best. Maybe you’ll like those more but I thought you’d like Kid A a little more.
