Kid A by Radiohead

Got around to listening to this by Frank's request.  I've always heard Radiohead songs in movies and shows and never been particularly interested in listening to their albums, but this one was alright.  There were a handful of weak parts on here that really reminded me of shіt bands like Coldplay, and the vocals rarely compliment the music at all.  Having said that, I really liked some of the instrumental compositions on songs like The National Anthem and How to Disappear Completely.  Haven't decided on a score yet, probably around a 6.
Too low. Glad you liked How to Disappear COmpletely though - that's probably the best track on the album in my opinion.

You in Reverse by Built To Spill

Listened to this on Breadís request and I gotta say this album is pretty damn good. Quite a few great tracks on here, I love Liar, Conventional Wisdom, Saturday, and The Wait (which is honestly a great ending song to the album). Wherever You Go is a song thatís extremely reminiscient of Pink Floyd and I love it too. The only song I thought was a little weak was Mess With Time, I just sort of didnít really dig the instrumentals all that much there but it wasnít bad, just kinda weak compared to the rest of the album.

Solid 8/10 album here. Gonna check out some more Built To Spill. This band has to be great for road trips too I imagine.

Yanqui U.X.O. by Godspeed You! Black Emperor

This is another band that has managed to produce music over two decades without a single album that wasn't great - which is not an easy feat for any artist.  I think this one is definitely their most underrated though - it has more of a focus on layers of instrumentation and less sampling than their other albums.  if you like really good experimental music and/or post-rock, listen to this band.

Score: 9/10

Boy do I have a band for you...
goodbye!

Actually, Braden, I recommend The Bends. I went through the Radiohead playlist today and it might honestly be my favorite album of theirs.

Even though OK Computer and In Rainbows are right up there for me. It's all almost neck and neck, but I think you'd like The Bends the best. I think you'd also dig OK Computer.

I'm down.  I didn't mind Kid A, just felt like they didn't reach their full potential with it...like some of the  music has brilliant ideas, whereas other parts feel derivative of formulaic alt rock like Imagine Dragons and Coldplay.  Would definitely check out more of their albums though.

Young Team by Mogwai

This is the 3rd album by Mogwai that I've listened to, and their debut.
I gotta say...damn.  Not that they've necessarily gone downhill since then, but this is definitely my favourite that I've heard from them so far.  So much atmosphere, so many complex compositions that fit together perfectly.  Great album.

Score: 8.5/10

Bumping this topic because I'm feeling adventurous and want some album recommendations. I'm willing to take recommendations from most genres, as I would like to branch out from my sphere of rock/metal music.
