In preparation for Mad Max: Fury Road.....
« on: April 05, 2015, 11:45:59 pm »
I've been watching the Mad Max films over the weekend.

My scores:

Mad Max: 5/10
Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior: 8/10
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome: 6/10

What do you guys think of them?

Could I see The Road Warrior without seeing the first?

Road Warrior: 9/10

I need to see it again before seeing Fury Road. I guess I should also try to watch the other two.

Haven't seen any of them, and don't really plan watching any of the originals or Fury Road, tbh.

I'm trying to see why people are so excited for it, but I just can't.

Looks like an insane blockbuster that's not taking itself too seriously, but indulges in its craziness (and practical effects!) to me. Snowballs, I suppose.

Paasche likes the dark and gritty.

Not every movie can be directed by Nolan, I guess... Maybe if it makes enough at the box office, he'll deem it a cool movie and go see it.

I dunno, the trailers just gave me the impression that it's going to be a plotless action-fest. Sort of in the Fast and Furious vein.

Well, I don't know how well the other Mad Max movies have handled their stories, so I can't really say in that regard. It looks like the straight-up most entertaining of all of this year's blockbusters though, and I appreciate that.

I could not for the life of me finish the first film.

This first film is pretty lame, tbh.

I mean, I love me some Bane, but I still don't think the film looks very appealing.
