Also, please fuck off with this "you know all about this, so you must know about that" mentality. It's fucking stupid and I'm tired of it. I may know a lot of things, but I don't know literally everything.
So you're insulted by the fact that someone is assuming you have a lot of knowledge?
I figured that you would appreciate the compliment considering that you're actually dumb as hell.

I thought you didn't like this show, you fake-ass bitch.

It's mediocre, but I do love Jim.

I liked the show quite a bit.  But its nowhere on the level of Cheers, MASH, Parks and Rec, or any of those top sitcoms tbh - at least from my perspective.

I love MASH, but no way is Parks and Rec better than The Office. Ben and Ann are the two worst characters in sitcom history.

Ron Swanson, Andy, April, Donna, and Leslie are all phenomenal characters.  The Office had Jim and Dwight and sometimes Craig.  I found the Michael Scott scenes to be very hit or miss.  I'd say Pam, Angela, Toby, and Ryan were below Ben for my taste.  Agree that Ann is nothing special - but then she was like the 6th or 7th character on that show.  Tom was better than any of the ancillary characters on The Office.  Plus, The Office really fell off the last few seasons - Parks and Rec did not.

To me, Parks and Rec is like a caricature of The Office, and it's way sillier in almost every respect. I like it for what it is, but Andy and Tom are too over-the-top sometimes for my taste. I do love Leslie, Ron, and April though.

However, the Jim/Pam romance was genuinely compelling for the first five seasons of The Office, and Michael and Holly are great too. I find it remarkable that The Office managed to make me care about stupid sitcom romances given how much I hate shows like Friends. Meanwhile, characters like Ben sucked the life out of every scene they were in for me. Once they started pairing people off on Parks and Rec, the show lost a lot of its mojo for me. Swanson will always be the best character out of both shows, though.

Have you seen the British series The I.T. Crowd? I don't typically like British humor, but I just finished watching that series and it's funny as hell.

See - the Jim/Pam ongoing deal was too similar too Ross/Rachel from Friends - so I guess I didn't stay engaged in that process as much because I kind of already went through it before.  Yes, Andy is WAAYYY over the top.  But honestly I felt like Michael Scott was even more over the top - and he was in a leadership role.  If Andy was in a director role on Parks and Rec I might have felt the same as you.  But he was a shoe shine boy who upgrading from literally living in a ditch, so I was more able to enjoy his stupidity.

Of course, Parks and Rec came on the heels of The Office, but I just felt the overall characters more compelling.  A lot of the characters on The Office were just nothing to me.  And I understand it was more straight/dry comedy (except for Michael) than Parks and Rec.  But the list of characters in The Office that I couldn't care less about is pretty immense - Angela, Pam, Kelly, Ryan, Phyllis, Toby, Oscar, Erin, Creed, Jan, Gabe, Roy - to me, they were characters that could almost have not been there and it wouldn't have really mattered.

Now, I will say Parks and Rec had the absolute worst character out of either show in Craig.  I essentially had to mute the scenes he was in.

My favorite youtube critic hated A Quiet Place and honestly he brings up some solid arguments. Still like the film myself though.

As a fellow fan of YMS I do think he was stretching a bit with the silo sequence, as that
Spoiler (hover to show)
. I was admittedly a bit confused by the way the nail was positioned in the scene but I thought the buildup to the bathtub scene was the strongest segment of the film. He did miss certain details (like the newspapers in the basement) too.

Not his best video but he does make some strong points at times.

Pretty good stuff here.  But he is totally wrong about the gun thing.  The creatures have impenetrable armor (whether it is just their skin or actual armor I don't know).  However, when her ear thing emits that noise, they go so "mad" the armor around their heads open up and that's when you can get a clean shot.  So that's why, in the final scene, the daughter puts the ear thing up to the microphone and her mom cocks the gun.  It's to signify they've figured out how to kill the creatures - the frequency disables it (and its armor), and that's when guns are effective.

Yeah, other people pointed that out too he did miss that it seems like. Otherwise, he still brings up some solid arguments. If you liked that video, I recommend him to you in general. He's a great critic and has some awesome videos you should check out. He also makes the best yearly lists out of any critic out there.

Yeah I don't really ever look at or watch critics - but he was pretty funny and brought up some salient points - so I'll check him out from time to time.

Bumping my A Quiet Place grade from 8/10 to 8.5/10 on rewatch.  Very few inconsistencies - in fact, I can pretty much explain away any perceived inconsistencies except for the part where the son is running through the field to escape and runs into the tire knocking himself out.  That's the only one that, in my opinion, is inconsistent with the sound & creatures combination.

I disagree, though I do think that the film is overpraised to an extent. Krasinskiís a good director but heís not a phenomenal one yet.
