Directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay co-written with David Kajganich, Chase Palmer, Cary Fukunaga, and Gary Dauberman, the adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name by Stephen King stars Bill Skarsgård, Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, Nicholas Hamilton, and Jackson Robert Scott. Taking place in Derry, Maine, in the summer of 1989, It follows a group of outcast kids who discover a shape-shifting entity, who may be linked to the recent cases of missing children in the town, but also face their own personal demons.

Started the book last week to try and read it before the film but there's no way. Guess I'll see it before finishing.

Well, you could try to finish it before Part 2 is out. Although... I imagine the films tell the story linearly unlike the book so doing so probably wouldn't help.

Yeah, this is a case of one book being split into two films. This one focuses on the Losers Club as kids, the next one focuses on them as adults.

Oh wow, I didn't even realize it was being split into two parts, shows how much I know. I'll just try to get as far as I can before the movie comes out, it's just hard with a lot of stuff going on for school (and watching The Sopranos at the same time).

If it was the summer I definitely could (and would) do that.

I read it in around 2 months.  Just do 1000 pages per day and you'll finish it by tomorrow.

I'm reading The Stand now. At that pace, I may finish before I die of old age.

The reviews were higher than I expected, so I'm considering seeing this in theaters now. Probably not this weekend though to let the crowds settle.
