Oh dear.

Certainly adjusted my expectations accordingly from all of this flinging of opinions across this thread and also in Letterboxd. If I ever get to see this, it certainly will be past Christmas since then the exam period of my bigger brother will come to an end (my parents have been hesitant to go anywhere since it can be distracting to him, in an idea that this will somehow improve his performance in the exams).

Why do you talk like that?

Kind of underwhelmed by this movie, but I didn't hate it. I'm very mixed on the first two thirds of the film, but the last 45 minutes or so saved the film to a degree. I'm leaning towards the B-/B range as of now (no higher than a B, though), and will elaborate further as I get my thoughts more organized.

This movie was worse than The Phantom Menace.

I've no great love for the former, but it didn't bore me the way Phantom Menace did. I definitely concede the gripe about underdeveloped characters (and CG Tarkin/Leia for that matter). Achieving the desired emotional payoff with the number of characters introduced probably couldn't have been done with just one film, especially one with rushed first two thirds like this one.

I should note that my score might still change; my family is watching this on Friday (as I mentioned earlier, I saw this with a group of friends), and since they also preordering an IMAX ticket for me there, it'd be a waste to not go. Said IMAX theater only has mainstream releases I've either seen or have no interest of seeing in theaters, so it'd also be a waste sneaking in elsewhere.

Also, between this and Nightcrawler, is anyone else wondering if Riz Ahmed have Danny Oh Syndrome?

What does Danny Oh syndrome look like? If Riz Ahmed have Danny Oh Syndrome, does that mean that his characters get fucked over repeatedly in everything (also true in The Night Of)?

To a degree, and the possibility that he may or may not be expressing his desire for the embrace of death through his work/hobbies.

Rogue One wishes it could be half as good as Frozen.

Y'know.  I slept on the film for two days and have come to the conclusion that it may have been a masterpiece.  Idk how my mind changed so quickly.
