Woah.

You can buy a critic... but you can't buy an audience.
Apparently people hate it because itís different... like it actually takes risks and liberties. The antithesis of TFA.

If thatís true, then count me in.

The biggest complaint I've seen is that the film is way too long and features subplots that don't go anywhere.
goodbye!

This absolutely blew me away. I don't know if I've ever left a theater so emotional before.
How does this compare to the rest of the franchise?
Its very, very different from anything Star Wars I've seen before. I'm not at all shocked that people are hating this because it really does feel like the antithesis of TFA. This is the Star Wars movie I've always wanted.

I genuinely have no clue how it will be perceived here, but considering the frustration most people had with TFA, I'm hoping you'll like it. My friends and I (half of which hated TFA) all loved it and think its one of the year's best.

This could be better than Citizen Kane and I still wouldn't pay to see it.

No. I predict 55%.

Ooh... there's a chance this will turn out half-right.

Anyone who liked Rogue One doesn't deserve the honor of watching films.  Cut out his eyes (insert comma here) Diego.

Rogue One has actually been going the way of Man of Steel for me lately. Rewatched it this summer and was extremely underwhelmed.

Still think its mmmkay though.

Rogue One just bores me incredibly. The pacing feels really wonky too.

Oh my God... this audience score is officially lower than the score for The Phantom Menace...

This is still at an 8.1 on IMDb and some of the negative RT reviews are admittedly generic (partially out of reverence for not spoiling it, perhaps). I'm not entirely convinced this isn't a troll campaign (a well executed one at that if that's the case).

I dunno, those audience reviews are all completely different and quite clearly from real accounts.

Best one:

"Make no mistake, this movie is getting paid critic reviews to boost its rating. This alone should scare the **** out of you. They are going to bastardize what you love, force feed it to you, and tell you the whole time that everyone loves it so if you don't like it you should question your own identity and opinion. Sickening."

Lol, what the fuck is this comment? How could there possibly be a large scale troll campaign against a Star Wars movie?

Force Awakens backlash, I would guess.

From the plot points that my brother just told me, that's not what this is at all (although I support Force Awakens/Rogue One backlash completely). The bad audience reviews are almost certainly due to how this movie (apparently) deals with certain characters and alters the universe as a whole. The idea that it's a large scale troll campaign is beyond idiotic.

Perhaps Fox wants a better negotiating position, so they're trying to sabotage Disney's most lucrative property in order to make them more desperate.

Or, you know, maybe the movie just sucks.

I can PM what happens if you want.  It's definitely fans that are angry because they expected something and got something else.
Goodbye!
