Am I the only one who actually... liked some of the posters, at least? I mean, I really didn't see what's so bad. They removed that stupid hashtag, thankfully, and the too much color thing is... eh... the cereal one definitely is blinding, but really all the other ones aren't that bad.

The point of the matter is that the posters are f*cking stupid.  Suicide Squad cereal?  Okay... but what does cereal have to do with it, other than nudging at a possible future merchandise.  The character posters are overdone to hell.  Since when did the Joker have black lips?  It seems like they set a high contrast punch on the posters and didn't know what was good and what wasn't an assault on the eyes.  I make posters for fun so I have a fair share of picture color editing/saturating/contrasting.  And I can tell that they just randomly shot the bars to the highest setting.

It's ugly.

Seriously. I'm surprised THIS is the movie that has all of you up in arms.

It looks fun, has a mostly solid cast, all the trailers have been good (No retarded Doomsday reveal), the only detriment I can think of is Harley Quinn (even though that's just how she is in the comics as well). I know Diego hates the visuals, but other than that... is there anything else?

The marketing does concern me, but I honestly don't see what constitutes to make any of the posters, "Worst Poster of all Time", other than the cereal one.

Soundtrack sucks though. Not gonna deny that.

Jared Leto playing the Joker is the worst part.  Not particularly because it's Jared Leto... but because he's playing a character with "Damaged" tattooed on his forehead.

And the film just tries too hard... with everything.  All the comedic pauses in the trailers were just awful.

Fair point. But stuff like the tattoo designs, or the actual poster they're putting up in theaters... those don't look that bad. Hell, stuff like the tattoo designs are pretty unique and original. At least it's not just your typical ****.

I'm being a bit too positive, but I just... I wasn't expecting this level of vitriol, not while Zack Snyder's Justice League is still coming up.

I don't see the big deal about a tattoo. It's sort of a nitpick. If he gives a convincing performance, are you really gonna notice that in the middle of it?

Again, aren't those all attributed to Harley Quinn's presence? Which I totally acknowledged could be a huge turn off for some of you guys.

Trust me Danny.  When Snyder's Justice League movies near release, it'll be 10x worse than this.  All this backlash lies squarely on BvS, though.  DC movies do not need to exist anymore.  Not like this.

We could make fun of the new Marvel films, but at least Marvel itself seems to realize that they're not appealing to high brow art.

Again, I'm being too generous here, but I give some points for DC actually trying. Whether that effort pays off, is an entirely different story unfortunately. Suicide Squad doesn't seem like it's appealing to high brow art either though.

Considering the man's body is covered in the cheapest looking tattoos, I think it's jarring.  Really jarring.  Not to mention all we've seen is Jared Leto trying to pull out his best pimp impression.

And no, there were few other non-Harley related comedic pauses in the trailer, particularly when Will Smith tried to give a "funny scared guy quip".  That actually made me scratch my head.

Oh. You'd really hate this one TV spot then, where he says in a Fresh Prince voice: "Dat's gangsta". With that exact pronunciation. At least it's not Cypher Raige bad, but still...

I've been hearing from people who've seen the film (in early screenings) that the film is much more focused than BvS and that the film's sense of humor is more on the darkly comic side of the spectrum.

I wasn't referring to Suicide Squad when I said DC thinks they're making high brow art.  I was referring to the man whose dick you've been clinging on to for quite some time now.

I can back up John on this one. There have been legitimate early screenings, and reception was positive. People compared it positively to BvS.

I wouldn't put too much stock into it though. BvS also had great early reactions. :|

Ah, Snyder. Yeah. Look, I get that he has faults. But I appreciate his effort, and his vision. I think he conveys his story through visuals, maybe a bit too much. He's probably gonna drop off the face of the earth after Justice League though.

Or make that Fountainhead movie. Oh boy... that's gonna be interesting. I can imagine the controversy now.

Yeah, tell that to Brian DePalma or Steven Spielberg. Hell, even Kubrick with 2001. Snyder doesn't compare, at all.
