Favorite Horror Franchise?

The franchises include every film, originals and remakes. So choose your favorite overall, even if there are entries you don't care for.

Hard to say.  Evil Dead is the only consistent franchise, even though there are much better original films on that list.

Yeah, that's the hard part. Each franchise starts really strong, but then the rest are either ok or terrible, usually. But Evil Dead is the most consistently good franchise. [REC] as a franchise is also pretty good, except for the awful remake. And Halloween was my third pick. I love the first film so much I had to pick it. But I do like Halloween II and Rob Zombie's remake.

Went with Evil Dead, Romero and Phantasm.  Though TCM is my favourite film on that list by far.

Didn't we already do this?

Anyway, list is incomplete without Ghoulies 4.  Still one of the best films ever.

Good picks. I need to see the Phantasm sequels. And as much as I love the original TCM, I detest the remake and it's prequel, and Texas Chainsaw was laughably bad.

Also for Romero's Dead series since we're considering remakes, do we also include that awful Zack Snyder Dawn of the Dead?  Because that's a make it-break it deal for me.

Fine. I'll change it. So yes, Tom Savini's remake of Night and Snyder's remake of Dawn are included. Also, Night in 3D, with Sid Haig, and that awful remake of Day of the Dead from 2008.
