Monster Trucks will more than likely be the first movie of the year.  Looks like a future Gods of Egypt/Nine Lives if it really is as hilarious as the trailer was.

But it isn't a 2017 movie.  (Going full on John mode for a bit starting now).  It's labeled on IMDb as a 2016 movie, and was released in a limited amount of theaters starting on December 23.  Calling this a 2017 movie is like calling The Revenant a 2016 one, or something along those lines.  It had a wide release on January 6, but it wasn't released then.
