I certainly think so.

I agree with Tatum on the Covenant rating though; It's a mixed bag of a film saved mostly by Michael Fassbender.

That's only because you're taking Prometheus into account, you see. Alien: Covenant is actually really good.

To be fair it's difficult to separate them when the impetus for the film's second act is a character whose screen time heavily involves detailing what happened to the surviving characters between Prometheus and this film. Without Prometheus' context we get nothing out of said character's
Spoiler (hover to show)
since keeping films meant to ultimately set the environment for Alien separate effectively leaves us in the dark with the roots for the motives of said actions.

Even judging the film on its own merits there's still some notable problems with Covenant, such as some other dumb character decisions (Not even bothering with helmets as a precaution or washing up alone when the threat of the alien on the planet is still around) and recycling the 1979 film in the final act. I didn't hate the film but with or without its ties to the Alien franchise Covenant has some problems.

I would agree with that part. The CGI (computer-generated images) on the Alien/Xenomorph were fantastic, though.

Idk (I don't know) what the point of using an acronym is if you're going to write it out anyway.
