I'm so glad he didn't because the ending was just so perfect.

Aight, what happened?

(SPOILERS) So, Jon Snow and Tormund and friends headed to Hardhome, where they negotiated with wildlings for a bit after Tormund killed the Lord of Bones. Then, the wildlings decided to accompany, Tormund and Jon back to Castle Black. As the thousands of wildlings were getting on boats, an absolutely massive swarm of wights attacked. There was an incredible 15 minute battle scene (Saving Private Ryan esque), that included a notable tracking shot of Jon Snow running, then killing a wight on the run, then passing by a cabin that a giant (!) burst out of, who had like 25 wights on him. He shook a few off and then started stepping on them, as Jon watched in astonishment. That was all one shot, and it was better than that scene in Daredevil. After more graphic bloody **** carnage, Jon noticed a few White Walkers in the distance. We see that one of them is the Night's King. A White Walker confronted Jon and the Thenn leader in a cabin, and the Thenn stepped up to fight it while Jon searched for the dragon glass in the cabin. The White Walker easily killed the Thenn, and then started beating the **** out of Jon before he could get the dragon glass. Incredibly, though, Jon's sword didn't break when it hit the White Walker's, and he killed it after a pretty intense fight. The camera panned up a hill in an epic manner to reveal the Night's King watching that fight. As Jon, Tormund (who's been kicking the living shít out of wights), and others head to boats, the giant from earlier has a gigantic wooden sword thing in his hand that he is swatting wights with. They flee to the water, where apparently wights and White Walker's can't go in, and paddle away on boats. The giant just walks with them, as he's like 30 feet tall. It's pretty funny. Then the Night's King steps onto the dock as all of the wildlings who didn't make it to the boats are slayed brutally, and he stares down Jon and Tormund for a little bit as they float away. Then, he slowly raises his arms, and the hundreds of dead bodies reanimate as White Walkers. Not wights. White Walkers. Jon and Tormund are like "holy shít, we're screwed", and the episode cuts to black as the water sloshes calmly. Probably the most intense thing I have ever seen. I think I'm hyperventilating while having a heart attack while jumping up and down. Holy ****. (END SPOILERS)

Wasn't that the title of that really controversial GOT episode that aired recently?

Another excellent episode.

Idk about excellent, but it was pretty good overall. It certainly didn't live up to Hardhome.
