Zack Snyder only changed Luthor from his canonic interpretation that was meant to be played by Bryan Cranston to Eisenberg nonsense because he wanted the character to reflect his idea of Trump.

George Takei is playing it smart.  He's waiting for 5 more allegations to be thrown before he uses the "I'm gay" card.  Spacey went in too early and could only shield off one accusation.  But then the other 5 came in and he can't go any gayer unless he comes out as trans.
