I was excited to see it (obviously since I made the 50 minute trek to the nearest theater playing it) so that certainly may be hurting the score.
I can see that...I liked the whole setup, and I really like Joel Edgerton.  Payoff was weak though, and the film's reliance on dream sequences was really, really lame.  Seems like the screenwriter started out with all this ambition then ran out of ideas halfway through.

Just saw Free Fire. I found it to be pretty predictable and forced. It's a wannabe Tarantino/Ritchie film with very few innovations on the genre. I figured out within the first five minutes that

Spoiler (hover to show)

and I knew that if it chose that conclusion, I'd be disappointed. Well, it did... and I was.

Probably a 4 or 5/10.

For a serious film where the main villain is a bunch of flowers, The Ruins was actually not half bad.

Oh yeah, I heard of this. Ben Stiller of all people produced it.

Desert Heat (AKA Inferno AKA Coyote Moon): 3/10

A film so forgettable that the only memorable scene has Pat Morita talking about pussy.
Everything is terrible.

It's funny how so many people complain that Michelle Rodriguez looks too manly yet when she plays a man in this movie, it's extremely unconvincing.

As for who thought it was a good idea: Walter Hill, the film's writer and director who also directed 48 Hrs. and helped write the original Alien.
Everything is terrible.
