Did you ever see Hunt for the Wilderpeople? That probably serves as a better representation of Waititi’s style. If they ever make more Thor movies they should just let him write the script - it doesn’t work having the two Marvel screenwriters trying to ape his dialogue style.

That will never make it to my theater I'm afraid.  I do feel good that they are doing a special showing of Sunset Boulevard tomorrow that I certainly plan on attending.

No, but I have seen What We Do in the Shadows. I didn't realize Waititi didn't write the script as well, but now that you mention it I'm not surprised.

Do you get high?  Because if you watch it sober, you probably won't make it all the way through.

You Were Never Really Here was quite decent.  Probably the 2nd best film I've seen this year after Isle of Dogs.

Finally saw the first Kingsman, and now I get the praise it received. Very solid 7/10 on the whole, and most of it was outright great for that kind of film. I especially liked how it made the showdowns amongst British gopniks (or chavs, as you are supposed to call them) look engaging. Villains had some great dialogue, too: even Danish Prime Minister got an awesome line with "I'm a republican, so it really doesn't matter."

However, it's brought down by its excessive final third, from Westboro fight onwards. I find most one-vs-many battles mediocre at best of times (so group battles at the cave against identical goons were also rote); when most of the opponents are unarmed, untrained rabble, the outcome is too predetermined to care about if you don't have emotional investment in their death (Kale, Dommy, Danny (?)) or survival (Diego).  If they really wanted to shock us there, then he should have actually "died" (quotes since we all know he came back in the sequel) in that fight itself. His death afterwards was ridiculously contrived; a guy who boasted about having a bulletproof suit not too long ago and just killed a ton of people in melee waits to get shot in the head instead of charging at L. Jackson's character when he's a couple of steps away from him.

Also, a question for the fans: does it count as a plothole that the Pistorius protege survives long enough to engage in the final duel, and doesn't get her head blown off alongside everyone else, when they explicitly show us she has the chip scar early on in the film? I suppose it could have theoretically been taken out without changing the scar, but I don't remember any scene explicitly alluding to that.

Black Panther: 7/10. I was disappointed to see the climax of the film reduced to a bland hero vs. evil version of the hero CGI overload fight but before that this movie was very good.
