When looking through both I'd give it to Amazon Prime.

I haven't really bothered watching any of Netflix's shows. That said the only films they've distributed that I've bothered watching are Beasts of No Nation and The Little Prince. The former was great and I enjoyed the latter quite a bit. I'm somewhat curious about I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore though I'm unsure if I'll get around to it.

In terms of original films Amazon has a much stronger record - especially given their recent streak of stuff like Paterson, Manchester by the Sea, The Salesman, and Lost City of Z among others. Regardless of whether you like those films or not you can tell that they at least exemplify a creative vision and heart, and ultimately that's preferable to the former's preference for Sandler, Schumer, and others of their ilk.

I have seen some films on Netflix that I wouldn't have seen otherwise or missed in theaters (I saw Apocalypse Now and Moonrise Kingdom for the first time there) but that also applies to fare I've seen from Amazon Prime (e.g. Rocky, The Witch). Prime, however, has considerably more esoteric content that often evades mainstream DVD retailers.
