New scores:
Phantom Menace: - (3/10)
Attack of the Clones: - (3.5/10)
Revenge of the Sith: + (6/10)
Rogue One: - (5.5/10)
Star Wars: + (9/10)
Empire: +  (10/10)
Return of the Jedi: +  (7.5/10; could use a rewatch)
The Force Awakens: + (7/10)
The Last Jedi: + (7/10)

No way is Rogue One better than The Phantom Menace.
Eh, for all of Rogue One's character stumbles and incessant fan-service, it's generally watchable even if the first two acts are a disappointment. On rewatch The Phantom Menace is just crushingly boring all the way through aside from the lightsaber duel (which is relatively superficial from a plot standpoint).

At least TPM is entertaining as an unintentional comedy. Rogue One is just about as dull and humorless as The-Film-That-Must-Not-Be-Named. It's a complete chore to sit through.
I think it speaks to TPM's aggressively banal nature that the only unintentional humor line I can think of is the "Are you an angel?" line. The rest is rather painful. Regardless of whether one thinks that Rogue One has blatant disregard for the canon, it never had mitochondria meters or incited the acceleration of the franchise's obsession with dynasties (Even though I think George Lucas is generally a better world builder than Kathleen Kennedy Disney's crew these are pretty baffling additions). Both cancel each other out when accounting for gross overuse of CGI.

TPM has plenty of hilarious moments. Racist Asian characters, big-nosed Jew character, "I'll try spinning," "Now this is podracing," and pretty much any scene where Liam Neeson looks confused (which is a good chunk of the movie). Add in the terrible CGI and laughably poor plotting, and you've got something truly special. Also, it has the funniest scene in all of Star Wars-- Obi-Wan backflipping over Darth Maul while the dude just stands there and lets him slice him in half. It's so iconic in its badness that it's still being talked about almost 20 years after its release. Rogue One was forgotten two weeks after it came out.

I'll give you the Neimodians being pretty funny, and I concede that for all TPM does wrong it sustains a discussion longer than Rogue One ever could. Just add my scores to the chart.

Enjoy your victory while it lasts, mortal. We will buy out the CreateAForum domain and dismantle it the same way we did with Miramax. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.

Also, see Disney-Marvel's Black Panther, out in theaters next Friday!

Added a consensus for The Last Jedi and placed Diego's Average Score Chart at the bottom of the initial post. Might try placing it there from here on out.
