Charles Longboat Jr.: - (6/10 but I'm not letting this get a 100%)
Why would I let the most boring movie of the year get 100%?

I dunno... that pie-eating scene was more entertaining than anything in Transformers 5.
At least with Transformers 5, I could keep myself engaged by counting the aspect ratio changes.

Rooney Mara eating pie and vomiting >>> Mark Wahlberg having a discussion about how he hasn't been getting laid in a while
Everything is terrible.

To be honest the pie scene doesn't even bother me as much as the five minute Rick and Morty pseudo-intellectual monologue. I haven't seen an otherwise promising film get derailed so severely by one scene since Star Trek Wrath of Khan (2013).

That said, I have deliberately avoided The Last Knight so I can't claim that the comparison between the two films is wrong.

Huh... looks like two of my favorite films are also the two highest-rated movies on here. Lady Macbeth is tied with The Florida Project in score, but has a lower standard deviation. Also, Moody, I can't believe you just made me type those tard ratings into my Excel file with my own two hands. I feel filthy now.

shouldn't we treat John's 9's like 4's?  I mean when he gives a movie a 9 I feel like he thinks it kind of sucks.

I scaled Jed's ratings in a similar way since he only uses numbers 6-10 on the scale. It might be time to do the same with Dawson.

I mean literally ever score I've seen in these 2 threads are 9 or 10.  And like 80% of them are 10s.  I mean, people can grade how they grades - it's just that, if everything is a 10, why even grade at all?  Hard to tell what he considers a good movie - I guess 10 is good, 9 is okay, and everything else is garbage?

I'm thinking we should do a Worst of 2017 installment with The Circle and other crap films. That'll give us a wider spread of scores.

Thing is - I can see why people love that film because the concept is pretty great. The execution was severely lacking however and I thought it could have all played out better tbh.

Yeah - the execution was weak.  No delving into what "it" was.  And night didn't really play that important of a role since they were just as scared during the day.  Like, the thing I can say about Lights Out was that everything happened when the lights were out, so it was at least aptly named.

Hmmm... a racist comment?  What would your friend, the Texans GM, think if I were to start an internet outrage against this giving him bad PR?

What racist comment?  I was posting a picture of Randy being called that from South Park...
