"Trilogy" Consensus I
« on: January 27, 2016, 12:11:50 pm »
So, these will be a series of Trilogies (or beyond for franchises with more than 3 installments).  So, let's start right off the bat with some of the most famous:

STAR WARS FRANCHISE (listed in order of their supposed timeline):

Phantom Menace: 0%
A nightmarishly bad beginning to the long-awaited prequel trilogy, The Phantom Menace suffers from bad directorial choices, flat dialogue, and an overabundance of CGI that hasn't aged very well.

John Tyler:  -

Frank:  -
Paaaasche:  -
Tatum:  -
Moody:  -
Neville:  -
Tanny:  -
Rupert:  -
Diego:  -
Aaron:  -

Attack of the Clones:  33%
Though an improvement over Menace, Attack of the Clones is still visually messy and poorly plotted, with a truly dreadful performance from Hayden Christensen.

Dylan:  -
Goldblum:  -
John Tyler:  -

Frank:  -
Paaaasche:  -
Tanny:  -
Aaron:  -

Revenge of the Sith:  69%
Often remembered as the best of the prequels (and for good reason), Revenge of the Sith is still flawed in many of the same ways as its predecessors, but it succeeds modestly due to the pivotal and epic role it plays in the overall franchise.

Tatum:  +
Rupert:  +
Diego:  +

Neville:  -
Tanny:  -
Aaron:  -

A New Hope: 86%
The original Star Wars film is an iconic, thrilling, and lovingly crafted ode to adventure, and even its cheesiest moments will get a nostalgic grin out of the most pretentious of hipster elitist snobs.

Empire Strikes Back: 92%
Often considered the greatest of all Star Wars films, The Empire Strikes Back builds on the characters introduced in A New Hope, bringing more depth and emotional weight to George Lucas' epic space opera.

The Force Awakens: 83%
Though it's not exactly brimming with originality, The Force Awakens is a long-overdue installment in a great franchise that manages to expertly blend the old and the new.

INDIANA JONES FRANCHISE (just in order of their release):

Raiders of the Lost Ark: 100%
Easily one of the greatest adventure movies of all time, Raiders of the Lost Ark is a rip-roaring action film that seamlessly moves from one inventive set piece to another, featuring death-defying stunts, memorable villains, and one of the greatest heroes in the history of film.

John Tyler:  +

Temple of Doom: 70%
Though a step down from Raiders (mainly due to Kate Capshaw's incessant screaming), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom has its moments, and ranks as a lesser entry in a great franchise.

Tatum:  +

Last Crusade: 90%
Back to the formula that made Raiders great, The Last Crusade is an endlessly entertaining adventure piece that succeeds mainly due to the great chemistry between its leads.

I have, but it was so long ago that I can't give them a proper rating, because I don't remember anything about them.
