So I bought a PS4 a few weeks back
« on: July 25, 2016, 02:47:58 pm »
You know... for Mortal Kombat X.  And combined with the controllers and the game itself, I had dropped a total of $500.  Just for MKX.

When I first played it however, there was definitely input lag.  My TV is fairly old in regards for tech nowadays.  It came out in 2007 and we bought it back in 07, but since we've barely used it in the past 5 years, it has a shelf life of around 21 years left, and since I'm very conservative with my resources, I will not drop it until 21 years from now.  However, the response time is definitely laggy.  Around 15 milisecond response time, which is awful.

So I do what I do best, buy cheap, but powerful technology.  So I go to this retail store called Fry's Electronics.  I usually go there when I know I want to buy something because the workers will hound you until you do (mostly because they get paid on commission), but they are complete idiots when it comes to tech.  Nerd alert comment; so this Sikh worker walks up to me and I ask him about cables that can handle a 144 Hertz monitor and I tell him HDMI can't handle it.  He then tells me HDMI can, which is completely untrue.

But anyways, that's when I found my golden ticket.  A cheap $95 monitor that has 1 milisecond response time.  At first, I was questioning the specs.  But then I realized the main drawback was that it was 22inches.  That doesn't mean a thing to me.  So I bought it.  And here I am.  Spent $590 on a PS4, a monitor, and controllers.  All because I want to play one game.
goodbye!

Gee, that's expensive, do you plan on playing online, Cutler? If that's the case, you need to spend even more in PlayStation Plus.

Gee, that's expensive

Puh-lease.  I made that money myself.  And though I should've probably saved that in a college fund, I don't regret nuffin (double negative to show that I do regret it).

Also, spent 50 on PS Plus like last week.  So yeah, 640 dollars down the drain

In Russia, the majority of people prefers to build their PCs instead of buying consoles for reasons like this. Well, that, and the fact that even if you can't pirate some PC games due to Denuvo, Steam still sells them at halved prices in Russia, while console games are retailed at full international prices, which can easily be equivalent to 4K rubles at the time of release.

Get Far Cry: Primal. Nuff said. I want to know if that game is as good as it looks.

Yeah well in America, you can only play online MKX on PS4, so whatever.
